Once thought of as a key position requiring a high draft pick, the running back position is now regarded as one that can easily be filled through free agency, or the later rounds of the draft. What was once considered a shortage in terms of talent, is now considered to be an easy roster position for NFL teams to fill. With LaDainian Tomlinson recently signing a free agent contract with the New York Jets, now seems like Sproles has a chance to shine as the featured running back in San Diego. The Chargers recently placed the franchise tag on the Kansas State alumni. Sproles is a diminutive running back at a generous listing of 5 feet 6 inches and 181 lbs, but he more than makes up for this lack of size by being incredibly fast http://www.uprightbd.com/ and agile. Sproles just finished his best season in 2009 by running for 343 yards on 93 attempts for a 3.7 yard average per rush, 3 rushing touchdowns and 45 receptions for 497 yardsWill LaDainian Tomlinson Return to Form With the Jets in 2010?While many consider Tomlinson to be nearing the end of his career, many others believe the perennial Pro Bowl running back will have an extra step playing for the New York Jets in 2010. Having been the workhorse in San Diego for over 9 seasons, the http://www.4soldats-lefilm.com/ five time Pro Bowler, and three time All Pro looks to rebound from his first ever season under 1000 yards rushing in 2009, and prove his critics wrong. The all decade running back has made it a habit of getting his team into the playoffs, only to have the Chargers falter. With the Jets, the running back will have a chance to play for a team with the NFL's best defense, a young quarterback who played extremely well in last year's playoffs, and a team upgrading their receiving corps. Will Titan LenDale White Get Any Carries in Tennessee? At one time, the Titans running game lived and died with runnign back LenDale White. His best season came in 2007 when he rushed for 1,110 yards, a 3.7 yard average per rush, 7 touchdowns, and 20 receptions for 114 yards. The USC graduate seemed to have found his home in the Titans backfield. All of that changed when the Titans drafted Chris Johnson with the 24th pick of the first round of the 2008 draft. Since then, White's production has fallen while his weight has ballooned. The Titans recently resigned the former 1000 yard rusher, but it remains to be seen what if any impact White will have in Tennessee as a running back. Will Willie Parker of the Redskins Become the Team's Starting Running Back?Willie Parker is used to coming out ahead when it comes to competing at the running back position. When Parker was initially drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004, he faced the daunting task of Black Friday Michael Kors Handbags competing against Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley for the starting position. Parker eventually won that battle and produced a 1000 yard rushing season. He then did it again with his best season in 2006 when Parker ran for 1,494 yards, 13 touchdowns, and added Black Friday Michael Kors Sales 31 receptions for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns. Parker is a two time Pro Bowl running back with solid speed, good moves, and a great ability to run on the outside. Parker now faces competition from current Redskins starter Clinton Portis, and former Chief running back Larry Johnson. If the past is any indication of the future, don't be surprised to see Parker become the Redskins starter. Will Ronnie Brown Finally Become the Number One Running Back in Miami? There's simply no denying Ronnie Brown's ability. The versatile back is capable of running between the tackles, catching passes, and throwing the ball in Miami's "wild cat" offense. However, despite Brown's abilities, he continues to share carries with teammate Ricky Williams. Unfortunately for Brown, his 2009 season was cut short. He only played 9 games, and once again handed the starting job over to Williams. However, 2010 may just be Brown's season, as Williams is starting to get a little old. Brown's best season came the season before his injury, when he rushed for 916 yards, with 10 touchdowns and 33 receptions for 254 yards. With the potential for an NFL lockout in 2011, every NFL team is signing players to one year contracts in the hopes of protecting themselves from the potential damaging effects of a work stoppage. Desired interiors have changed significantly in the time Gleis has been photographing private jets, but, if anything, tastes are becoming more restrained: "I see more conservative interiors today than in the past. This is often because owners want a more low key look and also, like with anything else, a highly customised look to someone's personal taste brings the value down."

As for which of the commercial carriers Gleis considers closest to replicating the experience of flying by private jet: "Singapore Airlines makes all the rest look like they're grounded. Peyton Manning Throws For 3 Touchdowns2014-Nov-30

Peyton Manning Throws For 3 Touchdowns

On the day Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes and drew even with John Elway in the career win column, it was Broncos linebacker Von Miller who stole the show not only with the three sacks and two forced fumbles that rattled Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, but with the ever evolving sack dance he uses to celebrate.

"You've got to show some excitement when you make a play," Miller said after spearheading a 30 23 victory Sunday that gave Denver a three game lead over San Diego in the AFC West. "It's hard enough as it is out there."

With their fifth straight win, they now have a three game lead plus the tiebreaker over the rapidly fading Chargers (4 6), who lost their fifth of six and are now playing as much for jobs namely coach Norv Turner's as a playoff spot.

"They're not losing four of six, I can guarantee you that," Rivers said of the Broncos, in essence conceding the division race.

Manning tied Elway with 148 career regular season victories, second place on the all time list of starting quarterbacks, with Brett Favre still 38 wins ahead. Watt, who had one in Houston's win over Jacksonville on Sunday to reach 11 1/2 for the year.

Miller celebrated his first sack with a pair of somersaults, then by getting up and doing jumping jacks with his arms bent at the elbow while he moved to the imaginary music. He said he was inspired by Sonic the Black Friday Michael Kors Sales Hedgehog, a character in a video game.

Manning threw for 270 yards on 25 for 42 passing but also threw an interception that got returned for a touchdown by Eric Weddle to open the scoring and got sacked in the end zone by Shaun Phillips for a safety.

Even with those struggles, Manning reached 24 touchdown passes http://www.acuzilla.com/ for the season and remained on pace for a 4,700 yard year.

"Everybody's got to have an angle on it," Manning said when asked if this win felt more difficult than it should have. "That's not how I see it. We beat a good football team. I kind of throw the records out the window. To score some points, and to settle for some field goals, and you may actually punt, that's part of playing against a good defense. We'll take the win and run with it."

Midway through the third quarter, the Chargers defense had accounted for all their scoring. That's when Rivers picked things up. All but 60 of his 258 yards came after San Diego trailed 24 9 and when Danario Alexander leapt over cornerback Tony Carter for a 21 yard touchdown, the Chargers were within 30 23 with 1:24 left.

The Broncos recovered the onside kick and ran some time off the clock. After a punt, Denver defensive end Elvis Dumervil sacked Rivers to seal the victory and extend a Denver winning streak that started Oct. 15 in San Diego, when Manning rallied Denver from 24 0 down for a 35 24 win. It was the first time a team had trailed by that much and gone on to win by double digits.

In the rematch, Turner's defense held the Chargers close, but the offense and Rivers took too long to get going. San Diego only had two first downs in the first half.

"We were not able to get the run going, we had a tough time protecting and they covered us down the field," Turner said. "So, the combination of those three things makes it difficult."

Overshadowed by Manning's arrival in Denver this year has been the blossoming of the Broncos defense with Miller as the headliner.

Dumervil's late sack gave the Broncos four for the game and 35 for the season. The constant presence of Broncos defenders in the backfield rattled Rivers, who had two touchdowns and two interceptions.

"This is the best defensive team they've had since I've been playing them," said the nine year veteran.

When Rivers completed a 15 yard pass to Malcom Floyd in the third quarter on third and 10, it snapped a string of 26 straight holds for the Denver D' on third down, dating to the end of a win over Cincinnati two weeks ago. It was the longest streak in the NFL in 10 years.

Miller is putting himself in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year.

He now has eight sacks over the past five weeks, and joined Reggie White, Jevon Kearse and Dwight Freeney as only the fourth player to record 11 or more sacks in his first two seasons. But the second year player's favorite player is Derrick Thomas. He wears No. 58 as a tribute to the late Chiefs Hall of Famer, and though Miller shuns comparisons, his teammates know they could be looking at a future superstar.

"He's just getting started. He's crazy. Crazy day for him," Dumervil said.

NOTES: Broncos RB Willis McGahee left with an injured right knee and did not return. . Williams finished with four tackles and one for a loss. . Weddle's interceptions return for a score gave the Chargers defense two touchdowns against Manning this season.

GLOBAL warming crusaders like to say science is "settled" and only members of the Flat Earth Society doubt their theories. House subcommittee hearing.

In recent years, global warming believers have typically described every major weather event whether drought, ice storm, tornado, or hurricane as both "unprecedented" and an outcome of man made climate change. Yet John R. Christy, distinguished professor of Atmospheric Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, warned lawmakers such conclusions are largely unsupported, with many claims based on as little as 50 years of data instead of centuries.

While the popular view of congressional activity focuses on heated debates or political speechmaking, the real work often involves far more mundane chores committee meetings, letters to agency officials, one on one briefings. That work is often overlooked or dismissed as showboating. Rep. James Lankford, R Oklahoma City, is proving otherwise.

As chairman of the House Oversight Committee's Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Health Care and Entitlements, Lankford has publicized apparent abuses in Social Security disability payments. Now the Obama administration is implementing new guidelines to reduce fraud.

Payments from the Social Security Disability Insurance Program (SSDI) are intended for those who can no longer

Frustrated by an increase in the number of physically and emotionally abused children in Oklahoma, the state Department of Human Services has turned to a foundation for help. When will this finally become an issue that prompts Oklahomans of every stripe to lend a hand?

DHS data show a 58 percent increase in the number of child victims in Oklahoma since fiscal year 2010. That year, 7,248 children were reported as harmed. During fiscal year 2013, the figure was 11,418.

DHS is enlisting the help of Casey Family Programs, a foundation based in Seattle that deals with foster care concerns nationwide. Foundation staff members are working with DHS caseworkers to dissect the agency's data and reports.

EVERY new year brings resolutions, those well intended promises that often wind up amounting to nothing. We prefer to offer new year's wishes instead. What follows is a collection of what The Oklahoman's editorial board hopes to see happen in 2014.

Here's to the Legislature producing a session in which none of its bills winds up being challenged in court. Supreme Court rejected two Oklahoma laws dealing with abortion. In both cases, it was clear the laws would be challenged as unconstitutional as soon as they were signed by the governor. Also this year, lawmakers approved a bill that included a future income tax reduction and funding to make repairs to the Capitol building.

TWO news stories published Friday got our attention for their unintentional yet apparent similarities. One was about being prepared for a major earthquake in Oklahoma and the other was about being prepared to keep prisoners behind bars.

Public safety is the common thread in these disparate issues, but only one corrections policy can be effectively and realistically managed. Yet Gov. Mary Fallin's general counsel, wholesale jerseys Steve Mullins, seems relatively unconcerned about a corrections Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale system in which only 60 percent of staff positions are filled.

The boldest thing that a Department cheap jerseys of Corrections spokesman could say in reaction to Mullins' comments is that staffing levels "present the department with management issues.

YOU watch the Thunder make a little Christmas Day history, or read that Kevin Durant is neck and neck with LeBron James for most all star votes, and it's easy to forget just how remarkable it is that this is occurring in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder has established itself as one of the National Basketball Association's top teams and model franchises. Now in its sixth season in Oklahoma City, the team has won three of the past four Northwest Division titles, played for the NBA championship (in 2012) and appears capable of making a strong run at another berth in the finals this season.

Last week the Thunder rolled into Madison Square Garden and beat the New York Knicks by 29 points, the most lopsided Christmas Day loss in NBA

IN the 1990s, bingo seats far outnumbered electronic gambling devices at Oklahoma's tribal facilities. Today, you'll be hard pressed to find an actual bingo hall in Oklahoma. Technological advances have changed the face of gambling in ways that have challenged regulators and even longtime gambling businesses. The pace of that change may accelerate with the growth of online gambling.

The shift from old school bingo halls to casinos occurred because vendors produced electronic versions of bingo that closely resembled slot machines to the average person yet didn't run afoul of state and federal regulations.

Today, the growth of online gambling could threaten the future of physical casino sites while compounding regulatory

IT looked for a time as though the race for the office of state schools superintendent would be the only election event worth watching in 2014. It was the only race drawing many candidates. Now the governor's Nike Jerseys China seat is beginning to draw interest.

Republican Gov. Mary Fallin will be difficult to unseat. She has solid conservative credentials that make her popular in deep red Oklahoma. She has plenty of money in her campaign account, and she has the power of the incumbency. Those attributes made it appear until recently that she might win re election unopposed.

But on Dec. 17, Democratic state Rep. Joe Dorman of Rush Springs announced he was establishing an exploratory committee to evaluate running for governor.

To show solidarity with the millions of people being harmed by his health care law, President Barack Obama signed up for Obamacare shortly before Christmas.

Well, Obama didn't personally sign up. His aides did on his behalf. But at least this shows that the Obamacare website's technical problems have been overcome, right? Wrong. The aides had to sign him up through an in person enrollment.

A White House spokesman told The Associated Press that the "complicated nature of the president's case required an in person sign up," saying the president's personal information isn't readily available in government databases due to security issues, making it impossible for the exchange website to verify his identity and eligibility

Spring is the season of hope, but every new year brings a spirit of optimism. You see this in the wealth of resolutions made as the calendar turns. Never mind that many resolutions made for Wednesday will be gone by Thursday.

Still, optimism is in the air among the state's certified public accountants. The 2014 Oklahoma Economic Poll, which surveys members of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs, shows that nearly 48 percent of respondents believe the state's business climate will improve next year. That's up from 38.2 percent a year ago and comes despite the onset of Obamacare and all the challenges that health care reform poses for businesses.

Only 8 percent of those surveyed said they think the business climate here will decline

CHRISTMAS bills will soon be arriving in mailboxes. Holiday purchases made on credit cards will come due.
